Chipmunk is a meal-planning app for home cooks. This page explains what the app saves, what leaves your device, and how to reach us.

Accounts

You can use Chipmunk without an account.

If you create an account, Supabase handles email and password sign-in. When you are signed in, Chipmunk syncs your meal plan, taste profile, favorites, ratings, and saved recipes to Supabase.

Supabase row-level security is turned on for these tables. Your account can read and write its own rows.

When You Are Signed Out

Your meal plan and taste profile live in browser localStorage on that device. Favorites, ratings, saved recipes, and grocery trip state use browser storage too.

They stay on the device unless you use a feature that calls a helper API, such as recipe search, recipe import, recommendation blurbs, or shopping list merging.

Analytics

Chipmunk uses PostHog for product usage events, error tracking, and LLM analytics for model calls. These events help us understand what works, what breaks, and how much model calls cost.

Chipmunk also includes Vercel Analytics in production for basic site traffic.

Recipes, Preferences, and Helper APIs

Some features send recipe text, ingredient text, pantry items, meal plan details, and preference text to Anthropic's API. Chipmunk uses this for things like recommendation blurbs, recipe import parsing, recipe builder help, and shopping list merging.

Recipe search sends your search query to Pinecone so Chipmunk can find matching recipes.

No data is sold. No ad networks.

Deleting Your Account

Open your account in Chipmunk, then choose Delete account. Chipmunk deletes the account and its cloud data, then removes this account’s Chipmunk data from the device. If device cleanup does not finish, Chipmunk asks you to retry it. If that does not work, email ckeanee@gmail.com.
